Ben van Daal

Pianist Ben van Daal was born in 1991 in Roermond. After studying mathematics, he chose to further explore classical piano at the Imola Piano Academy in Eindhoven and subsequently continued his education at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg.

Ben is an experienced pianist skilled in a wide range of musical styles: from classical music and musical theatre to jazz and pop. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous artists, choirs, and other ensembles, performing on stages ranging from the Concertgebouw to Lowlands. He regularly performs his own compositions at concerts. His oeuvre spans various genres, including classical works and cabaret songs. Among his compositions are the family opera De Zaanmeermin, a flute sonata, a piano sonata, and a song program based on the texts of Piet Paaltjens. In 2024, his debut album featuring his 24 Preludes opus 1 was released. The musical language of his works is reminiscent of the Romantic period. Improvisation plays a significant role in his performances, making each one a unique experience.

Since 2023, Leonie and Ben have been performing as a classical duo, presenting chamber music for flute and piano from the 20th and 21st centuries.
