Favorite drummer:
I really enjoy Chris Coleman, Dave Weckl, David Garibaldi, Tommy Igoe. Closer to home Hans van Oosterhout and Ab Tamboer (sadly already in memoriam).

Favorite band:
Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, but also Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, Louis Armstrong, Ernie Ford and many more.

What do you like to eat most:
Especially sushi and wok dishes make me really happy.

What do you love most:
My family.

What do you hate:
Hate is a strong word, but I get less cheerful from cold "reheated" lasagna on location before a gig.

How long have you been playing Adams:
I first came into contact with Adams in October - November 2020.

What would you like to advise our customers?
I recommend everyone to let yourself be surprised. My introduction to Adams drums was with a single snare. I liked that snare so much that I eventually went to colleague Rick van Wort to check out his Adams 8000 Dpresent and some snares.
Once at Adams in the store I discovered that all Adams drum models are of such high quality that it is truly enjoyable for everyone, at every level and suitable for every style.

History:
I started playing guitar at the age of 7. From the age of 10 I became familiar with the drum and lyre corps in our village. I immediately started taking drum lessons and played in the corps for several years.
After two years in the drum band and later combined with wind orchestra, I started drumming at the music school. After several years of drumming I was admitted to the Havo for Music and Dance. There I could fully focus on music.
After Havo I followed the Music Teacher program at Codarts Rotterdam.

After my studies at Codarts, drumming moved more to the background and I focused more on teaching general music education at secondary schools. I started to miss drumming and auditioned for a musical. I played in the orchestra pit for a while. Playing in a musical combined well with part-time teaching.

After some time I played at Crazy Piano's in Scheveningen and started freelancing. At Crazy Piano's I met multi-instrumentalist and singer James Ludlam. Together with James, singer Eva van der Zanden and saxophonist Bep van Noord we started The Big Swingers four years ago. With this band we give music from the past a modern twist. Over the past four years the project has grown considerably and we are happily very busy with it.
