Eddie Claessens (NL)
I’ve been drumming since the age of 8 — mostly self-taught at first, later guided by professional teachers. Although I was accepted into the Conservatory of Maastricht, I chose to study English instead — it seemed like the smarter choice at the time. But drums found their way back into my life... ;-)
I’ve done all kinds of things, from children’s and youth choirs to a Slayer tribute band. Besides playing covers, I also perform and write original music. Drumming came full circle when I founded my own drum school in Roermond in 2012: Drums4Fanatics (www.drums4fanatics.nl).
Currently I perform with Mad King Thorn (Hard Rock / Metal), Klabanga (Latin / acoustic), and Vandale (Dutch-language hard rock – www.vandale-band.nl). In 2015, Vandale released a new album that I played on and co-wrote. I keep learning every day and I’m truly grateful to share my passion with students and fellow musicians!

That changes all the time — I have very broad taste and it’s hard to choose. If it’s played well and with energy, I love it. Foo Fighters are always a favourite, but also 80’s rock bands, acoustic ballads… and more.

What do you hate?
I don’t hate ;-) I believe in respect, passion, and conviction. With those in mind, there’s hardly any room for hate — try it!

Since 2013 in my drum school, and live since 2014.
