How do we play the printed music? Is a quarter note in Bach the same as one in Blavet? In jazz the same as in techo? How do we read Debussy differently than Varese? Or Schubert, Stockhausen, Saariaho...?

How can we play Mozart the millionth time and still make it sound fresh? How can we premiere a complicated piece of "new music" and make it sound like an "old favorite"?

Participants! Bring along not only the pieces you're working on, but also other music you'd be curious to learn more about, in whatever genre, including scores that seem impossible.
