In this workshop we are not only interested in the development in the literature for flute solo from Hottetere to Berio, but we'll also focus on the question: where should I look for when playing a solo piece?
Even though our instrument is a "melody-instrument"', the most works for solo flute are not only melody, the horizontal lines, but also the vertical structures are very important. Harmonies and chords are in the music, but because there is no accompaniment, you can't here it there. So you have to "play" that as well. How do you do that? How can you learn where this vertical structure is?
